How do I submit?

You must submit through the button that says "Click to Submit on FilmFreeway" or by going directly to FilmFreeway and locating our festival. We do not accept submissions outside of FilmFreeway. 

Why should I submit to Cosmic Film Festival?

Cosmic Film Festival’s vision is to bring passionate filmmakers of all backgrounds together with audiences eager to experience film beyond the mainstream movies. All of our Judges are industry professionals with successful track records.

Due to the pandemic, I created a film via Zoom, cellphone, etc. Is that okay?
We will consider cell phone, webcam, and films recorded through other various devices into Cosmic Film Festival as long as they meet the requirements specified for the Award Categories and Rules & Terms. We understand that filmmakers in 2020-present may not have had access to regular film resources. We'd love to see what you came up with despite the setbacks of the pandemic!

What are the award categories?

  • Best Student Film

  • Best Short Film (less than 30 minutes)

  • Best Feature Film - Drama (Includes Action/Adventure etc)

  • Best Feature Film - Comedy (Includes Action/Adventure etc)

  • Best Feature Film - Horror

  • Best First Time Filmmaker

  • Best International - Feature Film

  • Best International - Short Film

  • Best Documentary


  • Best Editing/Director/Musical Score

This category is for Filmmakers to be considered for additional consideration in the areas of Editing, Directing, Music.

  • Written Article

If you've entered, and would like an article written about you as a filmmaker, selection this option. Valid only as an Add On.


There will be 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in each category.

When will I know if I’m selected?

All those considered for an award and to be played at the screenings will be notified 10 days prior to the event, or sooner.  We do not guarantee notification if you are not selected, though we will make every effort to do so.


Can I enter more than once?

You do not need to submit the entry more than one time, however, you can submit additional films.

What if I want to withdraw my film?

You may withdraw your film at anytime by contacting us at  There are no refunds for any submission fees. 


What formats do you require if I’m selected?

You will be notified what the requirements are after you are selected, and have ample time to send it with your Press Kit. 


Will you show a trailer?

All films selected will be asked to provide a trailer immediately, for promoting our event, your film through our Website, Youtube and other social media.

What are the fees used for?

Fees are used for the cost of staff and business, including but not limited to: Advertising, Promotion, Awards, Programs, Banners, Production Crew, Equipment Rentals, Facilities Rentals, etc.
